I admire the homage to the DEFTONES, with DTF-TONES XD
I had a low res design that a friend wanted as a shirt. I tried everything I could with illustrator live trace but to no avail. Ive been following The Vector Lab for a while now, and finally pulled the trigger on this and a couple other products. Man, am I glad I did. This made my job so easy. The only issue I ran into, which was solved with a bit of tech help from The Vector Lab themselves, was that I had to go into channels and mess with their settings a bit to get the red not to disappear when the black knocked out.
That is my reason for the 4 stars, and not 5. The channels have "DO NOT CHANGE" on the layer, so I didnt even think to manipulate it.

GAME CHANGER
When I saw this DTF TONES file drop, I was immediately curious. I’ve spent a ton of time on YouTube trying to figure out how to properly knock out black in my designs to reduce that heavy “sticker” feel when pressing DTF onto shirts. I’ve read about sprays and all kinds of tricks to soften prints, and I finally found a method that was working decently… but it still wasn’t where I wanted it to be. When this file came out, I decided to grab it and test it for myself and I noticed a difference right away. It doesn’t just knock out the black. It intelligently halftones the design. What really impressed me is how it keeps the main highlights and focal points solid while halftoning the surrounding areas. The result is a print that looks sharper, feels softer, and has way better depth without sacrificing contrast.
The instructional video was straightforward and easy to follow, and the file has literally stayed open in my Photoshop since the day I bought it. Every design I work on now goes through this as part of my workflow. This has already helped me take my designs to the next level. Huge thanks for putting this out it’s a game changer.
